Our Club

‘The following pages in this document give you information of activities and opportunities to play tennis. We provide a welcoming tennis environment offering tennis to all ages and abilities. Playing at this club also provides a chance to meet other tennis players and make new friends, or you can come down and play with your partner and/or family if they are also members.’

Grosvenor Tennis Club is well established, with 4 artificial grass courts of which 3 have floodlighting for winter and late evening play. The club house has excellent facilities and is a great place to relax after an enjoyable game of tennis.  The club offers a range of social tennis, internal competitions, league match play at all levels and coaching to suit everyone.

A Little Bit of History

A Little Bit of History

The club was founded in 1919 and our first home was located in Deyncourt Gardens Upminster where the Masonic Lodge is today. After Deyncourt we moved to 23 Grosvenor Gardens where we are located today. Over the years the club has carried various refurbishment projects. The major one being in 2000 when the old tarmacadam courts were replaced with artificial grass. This was a massive project because the work required new foundations to be to be laid. We also carried out a major refurbishment of the whole clubhouse. The latest project the club carried out was to resurface the 4 courts in 2015 and install floodlighting on court No3.
