We are proud to have 2 excellent coaches on board. Ray Coulson (Head Coach) has been with the Club since 2012. It has been a pleasure to see both the coaching programme develop in this period and the standard of play improve across the board.
Ray is a integral part of GLTC supporting all aspects of the Club from Open Days, to internal tournaments and the running of the teams
Ray took over as Head Coach in April 2017. He is an LTA Level 3 Qualified coach and has many years of experience of coaching groups and individuals of all ages. His technical and tactical knowledge, along with enthusiasm and a sense of humour enable him to tailor any lesson appropriate to the needs of our players. He has a particular talent in the development of very young children with potential, but works equally effectively with any player of any age.
Dan started training and working as a Coach at Grosvenor in January 2022. He is an LTA Level 2 Qualified Coach and currently training for the next stage. He has worked closely with Ray gradually taking on responsibility for planning and delivering children’s group coaching sessions and now working independently leading groups and individual lessons. He has many years of experience as a Club player and in team tennis and we look forward to him developing his coaching for the benefit of our members.
GLTC is also proud of our team of Young Leaders. These are teenagers who work under the direction and alongside Ray and Dan. They have progressed through the coaching programme themselves and are encouraged and supported first as helpers at the groups of younger children and then possibly to get some qualifications in coaching themselves. They are excellent role models and a great asset to the Coaching programme and the Club as a whole.

The club runs a very successful junior coaching programme
Our popular junior coaching programme runs school term time only on weekdays from 4pm onwards and on Saturdays from 9am.
Children are given the opportunity to join our pre-school group on a Monday lunchtime and then progress to other groups across the week. Children also join at a range of ages, but this depends on spaces being available.
The programme is structured to broadly group children with others of a similar ability which is generally with those of a similar age, but not necessarily so.
The hour sessions cost £6.00 each and are paid for on a termly basis in advance.
For further information about the coaching programme please contact Ray Coulson, Head Coach at: ray79tennis@hotmail.co.uk
Tennis Camps are run for Junior Members as well as non-members, and provide a fun and exciting way for the juniors to develop their tennis skills and meet new friends. Our camps run in all the school holidays and cater for juniors of all standards, aged 5-13 years old.
